Repair Terms and Guarantee
You agree to these terms when you book a repair, online or at the counter. They don’t affect your statutory rights.
- 12-month guarantee, parts and labour, on parts we supply, including screens
- 6 months on replacement batteries
- 90 days on our labour if you bring the part
- 30-day re-clean after a virus removal
About these terms
These terms apply to repairs by RE-USE Repair, a trading brand of RE-USE.SYSTEMS. They do not affect your statutory rights. For advice on your rights, contact Citizens Advice.
Diagnosis and quotes
Diagnosis is free if you go ahead with the repair. If you decide not to, there is a £25 bench fee for faults that took more than 30 minutes to find, and we tell you before we start. We give you a fixed price before any work, and ask again before doing anything that would cost more. Completion times are our best estimate, not a guarantee.
Your data
Please back up anything important before handing your device in. If you tell us your data matters, we back up the drive before any work that touches it. Some repairs need a reset or a fresh install of Windows or macOS; we tell you first. You authorise us to accept software licence terms on your behalf where a repair needs it. We only access your files as far as the repair requires, and we never share them.
Our guarantee
Parts we supply, including screens, SSDs and memory, are guaranteed for 12 months, parts and labour. Replacement batteries are guaranteed for 6 months if the battery fails, swells or holds less than 80% of its rated capacity. Where you supply the part, our labour is guaranteed for 90 days. After a virus removal, if the same problem comes back within 30 days we clean it again free. All periods run from the date you collect the device. If the same fault returns, bring it back and we will repair it, replace the part or refund you. A repair under guarantee does not restart the period.
What the guarantee does not cover
Accidental damage, drops, liquid or misuse; faults caused by anyone else opening or repairing the device after us; software, settings or malware problems that start after collection (apart from the 30-day re-clean); normal wear, including gradual battery ageing within the limits above; cosmetic marks; and data. These exclusions do not reduce your statutory rights.
Our responsibility to you
We carry out every repair with reasonable care and skill. If we damage your device or something goes wrong through our fault, we will put it right. We are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for business losses (such as lost profit or business interruption) where a device is used for business. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Payment and old parts
Payment is due when you collect, by card, cash or bank transfer. Parts we remove are returned on request at collection; otherwise we recycle them responsibly.
Collection
We tell you when your device is ready. Please collect it within 90 days of that notice. We send reminders, and before taking any action we send a final notice giving a collect-by date at least 28 days ahead. Notices go to the email address or other contact details you gave us, so please tell us if they change.
Uncollected devices (abandonment)
If you have not collected your device, or contacted us to arrange collection, by the collect-by date in our final notice, you agree that it is abandoned and that ownership passes to us. We will then securely wipe all data from it and may recycle it, reuse it or sell it. If we sell it, we will use the money to cover what you owe us for the repair, and hold any balance for you to claim for 6 years. This does not apply while you are in contact with us about the repair or a complaint.
Complaints and law
If something is not right, talk to us first: call 01566 471096, email repairs@reuserepair.co.uk, or write to us at the Windmill Centre. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and either of us may bring proceedings in its courts.
Buying a refurbished computer
These terms apply when you order or buy a refurbished computer from us. You agree to them when you order, at the counter. Last updated 24 October 2026.
- 12-month guarantee, parts and labour (the battery is excluded)
- 50% deposit or full payment when you order, balance when you collect
- Full refund if we can’t supply what we agreed
Ordering and paying
We prepare each refurbished computer to order from our tested stock. When you order, you pay either a 50% deposit or the full price, and we give you a numbered receipt. Once we have chosen your computer we tell you its make, model and specification and issue an invoice showing its serial number, the guarantee and what you have already paid. Any balance is due when you collect, before the computer is released.
If we can’t supply what we agreed
If we can’t find a computer that matches what we agreed, we tell you and refund everything you have paid. If we can offer something different (a different model, specification or price), it’s your choice: accept it, or have a full refund.
Changing your mind
If you ordered in person at the shop and change your mind before we start preparing your computer, we refund your deposit in full. After that, we may keep a reasonable amount to cover the work already done, never more than the deposit, and we tell you how we worked it out. If you ordered by phone, email or online without coming into the shop, you also have 14 days from the day you collect the computer to cancel for any reason and get a full refund; bring or send the computer back in the condition you received it.
What you’re buying
Our computers are refurbished, not new. Each one is cleaned, checked against our test sheet, securely wiped and set up with a fresh operating system. They may have light cosmetic marks, which we point out when you choose or collect. The battery is checked and working when you collect.
Our guarantee
Each refurbished computer is guaranteed for 12 months from the day you collect it, parts and labour. The battery is not part of this 12-month guarantee, because batteries wear with use, but your statutory rights still apply to it. If a fault covered by the guarantee appears, bring the computer back and we will repair it, replace it with an equivalent one or refund you. A repair under guarantee does not restart the period.
What the guarantee does not cover
Accidental damage, drops, liquid or misuse; faults caused by anyone else opening or repairing the computer; software, settings or malware problems that start after collection; normal wear; and your data. These exclusions do not reduce your statutory rights.
Your statutory rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the computer must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it isn’t, you can reject it for a full refund within 30 days of collection; after that you are entitled to a repair or replacement, or if that fails, a price reduction or refund. Nothing in these terms affects those rights. For advice, contact Citizens Advice.
Collection
We tell you when your computer is ready. Please collect it within 30 days; if you can’t, get in touch and we will hold it for longer.
