Laptop battery replacement
Laptop batteries wear out after roughly 300–1,000 charge cycles. A new battery brings back a full day’s use and is one of the cheapest ways to keep a laptop going for years.
If your trackpad is lifting, the case is bulging or the laptop rocks on a flat table, stop using it and bring it in. That’s a swollen battery, and it needs replacing straight away.
When to bring it in
- Dies within minutes of unplugging
- Battery percentage jumps or stays at 0%
- “Consider replacing your battery” warning
- Bulging case or a lifting trackpad
What we do
- Run a battery health report to confirm the battery is the fault, not the charger or charging port
- Fit a quality-tested replacement, or a genuine manufacturer part on request
- Calibrate it and recycle the old cell safely
How long: Same or next day for popular models we stock. 2–5 days if the battery has to be ordered in.

Questions
Is a swollen battery dangerous?
Yes, it can be. A swollen lithium battery can catch fire if it’s punctured or keeps charging. Unplug it, don’t press on the case, and bring it in.
Can I keep using the laptop plugged in instead?
With a healthy but worn battery, yes. With a swollen battery, no — keeping it on charge makes the swelling worse.
